Alteryx Use case BAE Systems

BAE Systems plc is a British multinational defence, security, and aerospace company. Its headquarters are in London in the United Kingdom and it has operations worldwide. It is among the world’s largest defence companies; it was ranked as the third-largest based on applicable 2015 revenues. Its largest operations are in the United Kingdom and United States.

Great Tableau Example of where BAE systems saw huge performance gains in Tableau due to using Alteryx.

BAE Systems provides some of the world’s most advanced, technology-led defense, aerospace and security solutions and employ a skilled workforce of some 83,400 people in over 40 countries. 17.9B revenue (GDP)

Their HR department brought Alteryx in to solve multiple problems :
1.They were previously coding metrics in SQL for Tableau output. They were using a consultant, and realized with Alteryx they could bring this slow and expensive process in house. The SQL coding was also labor intensive to change, with Alteryx they can make adjustments on the fly or quickly trace errors. Plus they saw that Alteryx has a range of 40+ predictive tools they needed to use for analytics such as flight risk analysis.
2.Another issue was high volume of excel files, and rows per file. Their compensation analysis output to Tableau kept crashing and they realized they could use Alteryx to preprocess data. That work now takes 10 minutes instead of days.

They have now become the defacto analytic center of excellence for BAE Systems. They showed the engineering and manufacturing department how to use Alteryx to eliminate need to SQL code. Across the board they are showing other departments how to deal with a lot of dirty data-there is no standard for country codes or international data.
